Mercury Retrograde in Pisces - Transcending Old Emotions
March 6th to 28th we are in the first Mercury Retrograde of 2019!
Mercury in Pisces isn’t it’s strong suit. Mercury rules Gemini and Virgo - both known for their ease of communication and either expansive curiosity and playfulness of thought, or it’s organised and laser sharp analysis. Pisces is just the opposite. In Pisces Mercury becomes vague, emotional, moody, dreamy and even spiritual and transcendent. It’s not a great time for logic.
There are a few themes that come up for this Mercury Retrograde phase in Pisces. Hopefully this will help you wrap your mind around how to utilise this month’s energy in the best way.
I have noticed already that March is starting off with surprises! I’ve had cards fly out of my deck, things fall out of nowhere, surprising offers and crazy making statements that have been a bit shocking to say the least. Surprise is in the air - so we can just be alert to them and nip them in the bud. The very nature of surprise doesn’t say if they are good ones or bad, but so far it seems truly mixed. I think the trick is to detach and solve things right away if you are taken by surprise in any way that makes you nervous, uncomfortable, or that need attention and a decision quickly. The good ones - well SAVOUR them and enjoy it !
Another main theme of this month is that of emotional release. As I said, Mercury in Pisces can be far away in its own world, not logical, not given to analyse well. It makes for lots of old memories entering. It can bring you down memory lane, give you dreams of this life, early childhood, ancestors and past lives. You will be left with lots of impressions and emotions to resolve somehow. This can bog us down in heavy moods, or confusion. It can stir up old addictions and methods of escapism we use when emotional and triggered. We can also use this energy for great healing if we face it.
It’s therefore an excellent month for any therapeutic work, meditation, extra rest, artistic expression ( get those emotions out of you creatively!) and it’s a good time to confront the old things that have been lingering inside you anyway - you maybe just didn’t realise it because we haven’t slowed down to feel in so long. FEEL it and RELEASE it this month and you will feel wonderful and purged - refreshed and ready.
Another benefit (or not) with Mercury in Pisces retrograde is the possibility of altered states of mind. This just means we step out of “normal” adrenalized reality of running to appointments, or keeping up the routines, and we go off grid for a bit. Maybe you finally have a window to sleep in and then your whole brain and body feel different again - hopefully relieved from that! Perhaps you go down that memory lane and go read an old book or look at old photos. You may be back in the past for a day or two remembering and feeling the old days. You are processing it - no need to stay stuck but no need to run from feeling it and letting it all go. Amazing insight comes this way when you feel.
Some will just medicate themselves and addictions will dive deeper under this influence - which would be sad.
You can also have amazing intuition, psychic impressions, predictive dreams and transcendent meditations under this influence. It’s rare the rational mind is relaxed in most of us. As you let go of that side of you that’s where the Divine Feminine energy and receptivity begin to open you to mystical experiences. This is the wonderful side of this transit. I highly suggest you do something to open your heart to healing, purging emotion, creative self expression and self- healing for the month.
Mercury Retrograde in Pisces is actually a great gift for your mind - even though it won’t be making order and sense in a logical or rational way. It will be processing and allowing room for he vast unspoken energy you carry that doesn’t’ get the audience it deserves. It’s so deep and potent for transformation. I wish this for you all.
