Here is a sneak peak at May 2012!

Projection and Idealisation

What you cannot stand in yourself, you locate and attack (or nurture) in the other, and what you can not acknowledge as good in yourself you will idealize in others

Projective Identification is a term first used by Melanie Klein (1946) to describe a process whereby parts of the ego are thought of as forced into another person who is then expected to become identified with whatever has been projected

We all project something and often in innocent ways. I get into a small fender bender. I don't want to think about how it's maybe my fault too for being so stressed and distracted, so I yell or whine about how people should really look where they are going! I may be outraged at how unaware everyone is on the road....eh hem. In this instance I was projecting my own stress and lack of awareness onto the other driver to avoid being responsible for my part in it.

We project things in order to cope and avoid.
