River-Rain Spirit Guides 

I put a lot of thought into this name and yet I realized I've never fully explained why I chose it....so I thought I'd share

Visualize a river in your mind....the calm flow meandering amongst the trees, or the rush flowing amidst a dirt floor.  Now imagine the tiny drops of rain on that river as it flows.  There are two directions and symbolisms to this for me...and I'm sure you can interpret more.  The river represents the flow of life. We can stay on the river bank watching life go by. Sometimes this is a great idea for reflection and time out to gain perspective. Sometimes it's fear of going with that flow of change, and becomes a stuck mentality.  I believe we are meant to be in that flow and see where the river takes us.

Rivers being bodies of water also represent bridges between different places and represent emotion and creativity.  Spirit is also like this. We can be in two or more places at the same time in our physical bodies and our minds and souls, or astrally.

Emotions and creativity are intimately connected and need to flow to be healthy.  If they rush they sweep up dirt and become muddy. If they flow to slowly they stagnate and generate disease. If they run dry we starve. So maintaining a healthy gentle flow is my philosophy of life...as it ebbs and flows. 

Water is also connected to the moon. As the moon becomes full our bodies also swell and fluids rise in us, including emotions. The moon is  a deep symbol of feminine energy and of the unconscious mind, as well as past lives.  The feminine energies in us all must be honored for us to be balanced and happy. If we ignore it the water still flows through us but in more destructive ways. Acceptance of these energies in us facilitates change gently from a place of acceptance.

The rain, the multitudinous drops forming concentric circles, represent my philosophy of how change happens.  I believe change happens gradually, almost imperceptibly at times. We hear a phrase, meet a person, take a decision, connect someone to another for friendship or business...and but by bit we are altered.  All the rings overlap and are very individual while being part of the river...the same river of humanity.  change happens as we truly integrate our ideas and beliefs into a value system and into action. each ring represents a person...a thought...a spirit ...a feeling. each contributing to the collective change going down that river - like it or not.
